I have two alpacas for sale. One brown castrated male and a black female. They are about four years old are are unregistered. They are redundant as I have reduced my sheep numbers. They do protect sheep and will keep foxes off chickens too. I can deliver within reasonable distance of north west Essex. £350 each.

They cost so little to keep I suppose they might have to stay. Now £600 for both.

WOW, that's a really good price ! Over here in the US alpaca prices are crazy high. I sold a gelding for $2500. he also had no papers. Some with papers bring more than $20,000. I know, just box yours up and send them to me and we'll split a VERY large profit !

From reading this I have "googled" Alpaca's and have to say they are very, very cute. I like the fact that they protect other animals. Perhaps I need to add a couple of these cuties to my christmas shopping list... Shame you are so far away.

IF alpacas are anything like llamas, they travel well!!

We brought our male llama at a year old, split him  from his Mum and Dad and sisters (very sad for me to see him removed from his family!)

I removed the centre partition from our horse trailer, put some hay in, and in he went.  We let him settle before leaving, and the owner assured me llamas will lie down to travel, and we peeped in and he had done, and stayed like that for the two hour journey.

Ooh!  I'd love some of these to run with the sheep to stomp on foxes!  Might see if there are any nearer to us in Scotland. 

Our pigs seem to keep the foxes away from our chickens thankfully.

and yes they do travel well they just sit down for the whole journey!

And my llama is very good at stomping on things in his field - I have seen him in action.  Unfortunatly he got worked up when he saw a fox, and stood on a hen instead - but it opened my eyes as to what he could do with a fox!!

Oh Wow Carol would love your 2 alpacas Have always fancied them wish you were nearer as i  could have been seriously tempted . But i am now up to  5 horses and about 25 sheep

At a horse show years ago, saw two llamas compete in a show jumping competition.  One won his class.  2 months later saw them in the for sale columns - they could not keep them fenced in - they had learned to jump the fences.  Beautiful animals.
