Perfect but upside down tail
« on: November 05, 2009, 09:02:16 pm »
I had hoped that this problem would perhaps resolve itself after moult.....but it hasnt! One of my welsummer hens has tail feathers which pointed down instead of upwards. I had been trimming them to stop them from getting clogged up with droppings. She has just gone through moult and today i have had a closer look. it appears that her tail is upside down......most bizzare. the feathers are upside down too. So perfectly formed but just the wrong way up! She lays eggs ok, she is otherwise healthy....in fact she is quite a character

Obviously I wouldnt allow any of her eggs to hatch....has anyone come across this before?
