In theory if someone purchased some pedigree MV accredited sheep, can these go onto rented grazing (no other sheep present) or are special facilities needed? Sheds, holding pens etc ?

Yes that's fine. They can go onto rented grazing & remain accredited. There's a premise declaration form you & your vet complete which certifies you know the rules, have adequate stockproof fencing etc. Its on the sac website if your based in Scotland.

you have to be mv accredited you're self though for it to remain I think??

I've looked into going mv but it seems a lot of hassle and extra money. Also got neighbouring sheep and it would make fencing a pain. so I'm heading down closed flock route where I can test for other diseases and hopefully build up a reputation

Does remaining MV accredited just involve the tests on sheep twice yearly?. Does seem a bit much for a few pedigree sheep to enjoy!

Not sure to be honest Jamie, i don't know if you have been mv accredited or not, but when i looked into doing going mv i couldn't see how i would make my money back as it takes a while to be selling sheep at 300 plus. One day maybe lol

mv testing is every 2nd or 3rd year depending on your risk eg if you run an accredited and non acc flock on the same premises. Have a look at some of your local shows at the breeds your considering. Some breeds will be mostly mv accredited to show while others have very few if any. It makes sense to go with the majority if your going to have a dabble at showing, otherwise you'll be the lone sole in the other ring the judge pops across for a quick peek at.
