greeting from Thailand
« on: October 30, 2009, 09:48:55 am »
just taking 10 minutes out of my hectic schedule here in thailand - it's hard work going from pool to bar and back to pool again. Especially in this heat. But at least i get some shade on the way, so it's better than having the nice wee girl (with decidedly big hands and a deep voice  :o !!!) bring it too me.

Oh and the food!!!!!

I managed to spend 5.20 on a 3 course dinner for 2 last night - though the beers took it too nearly 6.00!!

anyway, food was great, went on a days cooking course so I can now make all my own favourite Thai dishes

hope you aren't missing me too much!!

if you are bored, i'm in Railay, near Krabbi - you can look it up, some nice pictures online of the place!

Lucky you hope you have a wonderful holiday!  Don't be tempted to pay for a photo with gibbons - they are always taken out of the wild after their mother has been killed and are usually drugged.  They also tend to carry TB and Hep B.  I used to work in Thailand rehabilitating the poor things to release back into the wild.

Strangely enough I have no wish to go to Thailand - I think basically I am a little afraid, but that isn't rational and I couldn't say why I feel that way.

Oh, goodness - a soul mate at last  ;) ;D ;D ;D

I remember my father telling us some real horror stories of when he was in India so it just put me right off and I just have no urge to go there at all.  I know it was a long, long time ago, but even so................................

I've heard some pretty horrific stories about  people travelling in India, particularly women.  Mind you I've met loads of people who loved India, but hate Thailand.  I adored Thailand and would go back tomorrow - not sure what the boys would think of living in the rainforest though - they think spiders an inch across are big, no, no, no that's tiny!
