Anyone successfully kept potatoes in a clamp over winter? Never tried it because didn't want to loose the crop. Does it really work? Ros

No I hav'nt tried the clamp yet as I have nothing to clamp (Yet!).

But if you hunted out an old 2nd hand deep chest freezer and layered the spuds with some straw and just keep a little crack open big enough for air and not vermin size.

Just an idea.

I've always felt that a clamp would just be a big larder for rats and mice, beautifully thatched

its a nice idea, but in reality, paper sacks are just a good and much easier! Also with a paper sack you can see if anything goes bad as you get a soggy patch on the side of the bag. You can't see that in a clamp
