advice on an Unwell hen :(
« on: June 18, 2014, 08:01:23 pm »
I rescued some hens nearly a year ago from a dusty dark stable, the hens were sneezing so took them to the vet and got antibiotics and they have been amazing since then.

One hen sneezes every now and then but a few days ago she went off colour. she has been sat in the house on her own snoozing and sneezing, her comb is very pale suddenly and is just looking and acing under the weather.

I've put her back on the antibiotics in the water and I gave her a soft boiled egg mashed with the shell and she act a good amount!

Anything else I should do? Advice?

With a pale comb I'd be looking for red mite in the coop this time of year. You need to check her crop and her poos. You may be dealing with more than one problem here, as often one problem lowers their resistance and condition and leads to another.
