An exciting adventure

Hi, thought I'd say hello before I start asking a million questions  :wave: we've recently completed on the purchase of a farmhouse with 20 acres and as both my husband and I have spent the last 20 years working in IT we have a lot of learning to do! Currently working out what machinery we should be looking to invest in and have a meeting setup with the woodland trust to start planning our forest. We're hoping to plant commercial woodland and ultimately to work less in IT and more in forestry. For now getting the 1000 year old farmhouse watertight is enough of a challenge mind!  Looking forward to joining in the discussions here.

With 1 Angora and now 6 pygmy goats, Jacob & Icelandic sheep, chooks, a cat and my very own Duracell bunny aka BH !

Definitely a good idea to get the house sorted before winter. However much you enjoy being outside on the smallholding, you need a comfortable house to retreat to when the weather gets bad.
