That's unusual isn't it? I have had 5 kidding - 3 sets of twins and two singles... also the one AI-ed only produced a single (fortunately female). No triplets at all...

It could be because we left the mating till mid December, 2 reasons,# 1: we wanted to kid in warmer weather in-case Gabi had to do it herself because of my hip. # 2 : to avoid any chance of schmallenberg virus midges.

Did you vaccinate? I did, and have heard someone saying that maybe that had something to do with lower kid numbers. Have heard other also saying that (even with kiddings at the more normal time of March/April) that very few triplets this year????

Anyway, hope you have a good rate of boys to girls, I guess that's more important.

There seemed to be quite a few triplets reported on here. Mine had three, although one was born dead. Didn't someone even have quads? Can't remember who. My vet thinks it's because the food was good last year.

We had 5 goats kid, 3 had single's, which does seem like a high proportion of single's. However the other two both had triplets, although they are AN and therefore more likely to have multiple kids.
