The downside is they jam up at the bend and have to be kicked daily. Putting feed in is a bit awkward compared to a normal feeder and they will be very heavy when full so need some good brackets. Our standard feeders don't fill with poo at all because we put them on sections of tree trunk. I can see hens perching on the pipe and pooing in it, so something needs to go above. Pipe, angles, end caps and brackets are going to add up to a lot more than a standard feeder. So I don't think I'll be converted Tizaala.

I think in a very dry climate they would be great-just not in Lanarkshire :)
