Is anyone watching countryfile tonight?

On Adams Farm, they showed us his lush pastures full of pigs, but did you see the rings on all their noses? Is that to stop them digging?
I've never seen them before but each pig had three on their nose!

Not sure about animals that can't behave naturally! I liked him too!

Of course it's to stop them digging! It bloody hurts to root with a nose full of metal. But you get to keep the ground reasonably intact. Don't agree with myself would never do it to a pig but there you are every one's different.

I wondered how he managed to keep his fields so undug!!

Not keen on that idea, never thought about it really but before we got pigs we discussed which areas they could have that wouldn't be detremental to the OH good grazing!

If they can't behave as they should then why have them?

Even his Kune Kunes had them, I'd never do that to my babies!

our piggies had rings in their noses when they fist arrived to stop, both have had them  removed now,  it stops them trying to dig up the fencing as it hurts to put pressure on their snouts, after the first few attempts they soon stop, since we have taken them off they havent had a problem, well only when i left the gate open  :D

I also like things to be as they should but some of us mess with nature and it hurts too....pulling our unwanted hairs, rings, studs and plugs  in our noses, bellies, ears, bits and bobs, nips and tucks, blow up and tuck downs as well as tight shoes with high heals, tight clothing, tatoo's etc   :o maybe some pigs like the :pig:  :pig:sure my daughter wants her pig to have a nose ring, the other 2 she had didn't but this one is let into the garden and roots a bit but re treads his steps and so treads it back again...well for now anyway ;) Just re read this and my daughter dose NOT want a ring for her pig, it reads like she dose as the NOT is missing...sorry Beck!!!! I slipped the pig smiley in on top of the not...stupid me!!!!

Probably none the Great British public know very little about such things and what's worse they don't want to know!
