I read somewhere that there was an exemption for sheep if they were being transported for your own leisure purposes  :o . Can anybody tell me if that is actually true?
 
It's a tricky law though. My understanding is that if you take animals to an agricultural show 31 miles away, then bring them back the same day, you need to take the exam?
 
I had wondered if it might be possible to organise for local groups to get together and sit the exam as a special thing, say through Central Scotland Smallholders in my area.  I never got round to following it up though, as I now don't intend to buy any more stock from far away.
