Hatching out duck eggs
« on: March 18, 2014, 03:40:20 pm »
I have 2 White Campbell ducks and 1 drake. One of the ducks has just come back into lay although I'm not sure which one it is. I know the drake is working, is it worth trying to hatch a few out in the incubator? If so, how long can the eggs sit before going into the incubator? I've got a batch of unrelated eggs currently cooking with 6 days left so would aim to out them in after that hatch providing the duck keeps laying. Never attempted to hatch out any of my own eggs so any tips appreciated!

We've just hatched our own duck eggs. Ran the incubator dry until day 26 then increased the humidity by placing a damp Jcloth over the eggs. Hatch rate currently stands at 75% with tree eggs left which might still hatch. We only have three ducks so some of the eggs were a week old at the start.
