Its never a dull moment round here, with all the animals upto various antic
This afternoon, I got in from work and let Bobby, the smaller billy, Molly and Charlie out into the enclosure Rick has made, until we make the paddock Bobby proof.
I got on with preparing veg for tea, but after an hour went out to check on the goats (its only their second day outside). Bobby had somehow got out of the enclosure (its those big security fence panels all clamped together, but there is a small gap at the side to get in and out, which we had put a large gate on!)
I thought OMG - will he come back, as he was now in about 14 acres!! No worry on that score, when I called his name, he came flying to me. The only problem was getting him and his large horns back inside - but I reckoned he had got out, so would get back in. After some twisting of his head, and pulling his fat body, we did it. I turned round to close the gate again, and there was Ted one of our large GSD dogs, outside the pen. I had left the window ajar in the small sitting room, and he had somehow unlatched it and climbed out. By the time I got the pen fastened up, Ted had met up with Lillian one of the farm cats. Lillian stands no nonsense with dogs, and yesterday gave Talisker the other GSD a very bloody nose for poking that nose a bit close. She was about to do the same with Ted, until I rescued him.
Oh well, I suppose our mad few minutes gave the neighbours in the cottages over the field something to watch while waiting for their teas!!!
