Just to say hello
I am a retired forester with 40yrs of trees behind me, I have grown vegetables all my life but still find I learn something new every day, I have kept chickens in the past but I have none at the moment and sorely miss my fresh eggs, I have tried to be fairly self sufficient as I tend to make most of what I need, at the moment I am building a summer house out of recycled timber so my disabled wife can join me in the veg patch and we can watch the sun go down over the north York moors, I will try to keep up with this techno stuff but I am really a Luddite at heart  so bear with me, I hope to learn new skills and share my knowledge with you also regards to you all

I'm looking forward to learning from you about trees.  Did you do any coppicing during your career?  I currently have a thread going on here about coppicing and would value your opinion.
