Poor Rose :-(
« on: February 13, 2014, 01:25:57 pm »
So this morning I went to let my 3 hybrid hens out which I had purchased less than 2 months ago...Gladys, Myrtle and Rose. Gladys and Myrtle jumped out as per usual to get to their food, no sign of Rose who was usually first out being the feisty one. I opened the front of the coop to find her laying on her last egg, barely breathing and unable to stand or hold her head up. She was pretty much unconcious. They were all fine last night and this morning she was at deaths door and I am gutted. I know there was nothing I could do, but I am fairly new to owning poultry..what could have taken her so quickly?
