My goat population has increased .....
« on: September 16, 2009, 11:46:17 pm »
by rather a lot.  Two weeks ago I had two, then got Paddy and Jasmine, then the three little ones from the tiny back garden .....five more little goats arrived at weekend, and one more due any day.  If you are counting, that makes 13.

Yes. things are a little hectic round here - will try and sort some pics soon.  Been offline with no internet connection, so just getting back to normal.

There are three registered pygmy goats - two a bit larger than pygmys.  Then there is the smaller of the billy goats.  Very similar to the Alpine, but his back legs are really long haired, and he is built like a tank.  I have never seen such a small solid goat like that. His neck is massive.  The female with him is as tall, but nowhere near as wide, and she is mainly white, with a bit of brown round her head.  The younger female is white with black patches, and a black head with white blaze - very cute she is.  The goat who is coming, is slightly bigger than a pygmy, but has very long hair.

Paddy the big billy is an Alpine, and the white goat is a sannan nanny.  I am hoping for the kids to turn out patched black and white, which is what my old goat Penny was!!

I think the two nannys with the smaller billy are already in kid when they arrived.
