SS&G Spring Gathering - help needed
« on: February 04, 2014, 12:17:05 pm »
Calling TASers!

We're progressing with the organisation of the Spring Gathering at Thainstone on 31st May. Livestock, P&W, Craft and Food and sausage competition schedules should be on the website this week, ready for launch.

The seminars and demonstration programme is coming together slowly, as at trade and craft stand applications. I'll be emailing pig, goat, cattle and sheep breed societies this week once Dan's shown me how to use the technology. There's not a terrified icon but we're moving between that and  :excited: !!!

Now, we could do with some help from the smallholding community in Scotland, especially in North and North East.

We now have A5 leaflets ready to print (they can also be used as posters) so if you can take some and put them in places where smallholders gather - feed merchant, veterinary surgery, pub, market, abattoir, timber merchant, wherever - we'd love to send you some so PM me and I'll get them in the post.

We will need some bodies on the day - preferably live and  :excited: . We still need a pig steward, a sausage competition steward (Caron Stewart is judging so can't be in two places) plus a few to assist the other stewards.

We also need a few folk who can operate as stewards on the demonstration areas, geting folk in and out of the areas, introducing the speakers, helping speakers set up and clear down etc

And we need a few folk to take money from the public and be general factotums.

In return for a four hour stint, you get entry, your lunch and the satisfaction of knowing that you're helping your community

If you can help, we'd appreciate it - we can't run it without you  :)

its in the diary, but don't know if we will be showing or just coming along so cannot commit to anything yet, organising a "rainbow funday" for 120 girls the week before so my brain is minced with that at the moment  :-\

Hi everyone

We (the team behind the Spring Gathering) would love to know what YOU (the wonderful people who are going to be there  ) would like to see in terms of your favourite products and trade businesses.

So if you have a favourite supplier of goods and / or services then please let us know and we will get onto them to see if they want to be there! It is going to be a great day, but we want to make sure that we try and meet most of your shopping / advice needs in one place!

Thanks in advance, we look forward to hearing from you!

Martin
