So sorry  to hear you have lost sheep,  We had a strange van parked twice at the bottom of the drive where the Ryelands are and it drove away as we went down so have moved ours up next to the house, less grass but safer

I know how you feel. We lost a livestock trailer and a tankfull of diesel a few months ago and this morning I've discovered one of our fence energisers and it's battery have been taken. the plod have no chance of finding the culprits unless someone has seen them.

Sokel please don't tell me it was a metalic blue transit van with a roof rack as I've seen this van 3 times over the weekend and was a bit suspicious of its speed going past the sheep !!!

No this was a white transit van with a black patch on the side where they had obviously painted over a name or something

If i see a dodgy van around, I run the number plate through the 'webuyanycar' type websites - you will usually find its not recorded as a transit or tipper that its attached to.

The problem is the police really dont give a monkeys.
If you cant beat 'em then at least bugger 'em about a bit.

we have also had a solar energiser pinched this year after the local hooray henrietta decided to advertise the footpaths through our field.  >:(

We've just joined the club too.  On Thursday night someone slaughtered our best GFD ewe in the field and removed her over the fence into a van.  She was pregnant with twins and really friendly so too easy.  The others are all much harder to catch.

Of course she'll make a terrible carcass since she's all lamb and not much ewe but the thieving bastards wouldn't know or care.

They left tracks and some stuff behind so we've had both the police and SOCO.  The police have been really good which I know isn't the case everywhere so all credit.   They put out alerts to the local farmers really quickly.

We are on the border of Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire close to the M1.  Fortunately the two police forces work jointly on most things.
Being certain just means you haven't got all the facts

 to everyone who's had the trauma of sheep stolen.  :bouquet:
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Small farmer.  I am so sorry :bouquet: .  Our GFD ewe was my tamest and favourite too :'( :'( .  I think it is difficult to stop them becoming tame as they are so friendly by nature -even the rams we have as visitors are no trouble.
The DSBA will put it on their site if you are a member.
It just makes you feel so vulnerable and I am now paranoid about constantly checking the sheep, and anyone who dares to stop on the road near our field.

If the police get no where consider posting them on the internet - some one might name and shame them!
