Disposing of feather/guts etc
« on: September 11, 2009, 10:11:10 am »
I will be slaughtering some turkeys in December.  Can anyone tell me what the regulations are for disposing of waste - feathers/guts etc

Thanks
Mark

burn the feathers. get the people to gut them at home then they can go into the bin. otherwise your going to have to pay to get rid. remember don't gut them straight off. they need hanging for a few days. plus it will be quite a big pile of guts to get rid of. make sure your not doing it all you will get sick of the smell of turkey gas. Make sure they are fasted over night. its a lot easier to get the crop out empty.
