2 out of 3 ain't bad then lost another..........
« on: January 29, 2014, 10:42:22 am »
First lambs of the year born yesterday our sulfolk x had Triplets she did look massive... unfortunately lost the first and slightly biggest. We were only out for a couple of hours typical,im guessing the 1st was just one of those things he was fully developed :-[... anyway checked on mum into the night with her 2 remaining a boy and a girl even had a light on for her in the barn. All was well.
Up 1st thing to check all good and 2 hungry lambs bleeting as they should.
an Hour later whilst feeding the pigs had a look in and the boy was lying still and cold :-[ gutted im guessing she may have sat on him there was no signs of problems if anything he was greediest,  ...
funny old world eh.
Just hope the rest (5) ewes are luckier!!

Sorry to hear about your loss and hope the ewe and other lamb is ok. Good luck with the rest!

The lambs may have had something wrong with them so don't you beat yourself up!

:bouquet:  We always say, you get most of the problems at the beginning and at the end of lambing.  It'll get better
