Every time I go into my chicken and duck run I am terrified I'm going to have a swim in the green, slimy stuff.  Oh QWOLF - where are you?  I need help!!!  The plan is to set up a separate duck pen on the grass, put plastic pipes in the chicken pen to drain off the water to the burn, lay some gravel over the pipes, then bark on top.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

you won't have grass for long in a duck pen, Annie...mine do have a really large area and in this weather they turned almost a third into mud puddles! No grass anywhere they've started. We have to start a proper fencing off and reseeding regime - should it not rain for a week or so!  :&>

Yes, I know but the main reason fro moving the ducks is to get bark down in teh worst bit since the ducks would choke on bark.  I'll put gravel in the new duck run eventually, but they'll get out on the grass more as well.

Hope you are OK after your slip! I suspect the wine is helping. I hate going out to our local Forest as young people enjoy themselves on motor bikes and make loads of mud for me to skate on :D I have gravel and that is still clean, need a few bags more to make it a bit better in places, they all make pot holes!!!!!

Awww, Blinkers.  Sorry to hear that.  If there is mud I fall in it!  I also once fell off my chair at work and the very VIPs in the boardroom (who were deciding whether to fund our company) saw me!  :o :o :-[ :-[ :-[ :o :o :o

Hope ur not too bruised!

I feel your pain, seems like the older I get, the clumsier I become. I'll have a few glasses to help you with the pain ;)

Isn't it strange how we always get up faster then we went down?

Hi All - well, right corker of a bruise on my elbow.....and my left cheek !!!!! (an not the one on my face  ;D)     However - its obviously had the desired effect on the weather.............................cos its been so lovely and dry and sunny and dry and sunny and dry and sunny.........I have to keep saying it - cos it happens sooooo rarely!! ;)

Kaz - Harvey has learned that its NOT repeat NOT my fault that he can't get at them girlies in the next field ....although I still go in armed with a crook.   They're all learing at each other  through the fence  :sheep: :sheep: :sheep: :sheep:.......and counting down the days  :P
