Hi, I’m new to keeping pigs, is 135mtr sqr (1453sqft) enough of an area to keep 2 saddleback weaners for 6mth?
A local farmer suggested I could keep 3 on in that area, so long as it wasn’t longer than 6mths and had 6mths to recover.
I have a hard standing for feeding and a few ideas to keep them amused! Its partly under mature trees.
I’m just raising for meat.

IMO its just big enuff for two weaners to fattening, the good thing is you have some hard standing for feeding and theres one or two mature trees for shade so it shouldn't get too bogging.
Agree you can then leave it afterwards to recover for six mths or so before you get your next lot.
Pig keeping is very addictive & the saddleback is a lovely breed, good dual pork/bacon breed.

Do you have a good weatherprrof ark facing downwind for them?

Thanks Mandy and Marches farmer for your help. Its a pretty sheltered area, but it makes good sense to face the ark downwind.
