TAS "Guess my breed" game :)
« on: January 15, 2014, 07:47:43 am »

My name is Luca.  I come from Bulgaria.  I am very slight and light in build.  I have rough hair.  I can be seen in the above photo.

My new Mum has done a "doggy DNA" testing kit on me and is awaiting the results, she has no idea what kind of cross I am.

Can you guess before the kit comes back?

Could almost be a breed in itself there are so many who look similar to him  :innocent: - he is lovely, and I love his name.    Will be very interested in his gene make up - I'm guessing mostly collie, but could include rough and border.

The eyes look to me a bit like Australian shepherd, but not sure what else is in there, hard to tell body shape from the photo when he's lying down

Sorry nutter I should have mentioned, he's blind.  His eyes are damaged.

I hadn't even thought he had collie in him, I just thought husky (but he is very small, about the size of a sheltie)

:excited: :excited: can't wait to find out!

Many people are mentioning British breeds. Does Bulgaria not have native breeds of its own?

Yes, the Karakachan - but it's a type of collie.  There are also two hound type breeds.

Well, that was money down the drain.... he came back with "insufficient DNA associated with a single breed to indicate a breed characteristic".  This means that he doesn't have 25% or more of any single breed (either by one dog or any collection of dogs with bits in).

This just proves he is genetically not racist... his ancestors mingled far and wide  :roflanim:

He's a "proper mongrel" - as I suppose the majority of dogs are!
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing
