I was only saying to Gabi this morning that the snowdrops are late this year, they have normally pushed their way through the snow and are flowering by now here. none to be seen in the hedges at all. So I had a poke around in the more sheltered parts of the garden and found a few just about to flower , another couple of days yet, I was beginning to think all the bulbs had drowned.

Snowdrops, cyclamen and primroses here, as well as a few winter shrubs, plus unbeliveably roses on 3 rosebushes. I told the incoming purchasers there were flowers here every day of the year!

We've got snowdrops poking though a couple of inches high below the roadside hedge, and a few daffodils beginning to show elsewhere in the herb bed - always gives us hope of better things to come at this time of the year.

nooo not yet. I cant believe that we havn't had winter yet. Its normally well covered in snow by now and the thermometer struggling to reach -2......but its still mild only the odd frost, wrong very wrong.

Every year as children we picked a small bunch of snowdrops for my father on his birthday 11th Jan, so looks about right to me.

Mind you it doesnt mean we wont get some cold later on

...not here though. the plants are all waiting for the snow to melt.

That is, when it arrives I mean. Yet another mild day, there was a bit of frost last night and again tonight.

The tiny shower at lunch time was sleety-hail so maybe its on its way.
