Brechin Abbatoir now taking Private Kills and OTM
« on: September 01, 2009, 11:29:49 am »
Firstly this is not a sales pitch and I know I don't contribute much to the Forum, however I did think it was worth while letting people know in the Angus/Tayside area that Matheson Jess are now taking private kills and that they are also able to take OTM (over 30 month) cattle to.

I used to use St Andrews, where I would have no problem going back to but having an abbatoir just 15 minutes up the road makes the whole process quicker and less stressful for all concerned.

I have had both lambs and a Highlander done there in the last 2 months and found no problem with the service or their prices.  I also use a local butcher in Brechin which helps with the transport costs.

I have included the abbatoirs details for anyone interested.

The Abattoir, Leuchland Den, Brechin, Angus DD9 7PL, tel. 01356 622876

Word of mouth is always the best recommendation...well done...we should all do more of this, smallholders need this type of knowledge
