Monday moring rant!
« on: December 16, 2013, 12:41:31 pm »
OK...after being stuck with a phone provider who put me on a rolling contract, that contract now ends on Christmas eve, the 24th of Dec, I will then have no phone until the 2nd of Jan , when the new phone company will take the phone contract..the new company is BT..I am and always have been with them for broadband but changed the phone, regrettably the worse thing I ever did....18 mths later I finnaly get out their contract as now rolling contracts are not legal......I have phoned BT to see if they can get me connected on the same day, the 24th as its their phone line after all and my internet is provided buy them...and what do I get? a que then to be told from some one in a hotter country than I am in...that their internet and phone lines are not able to look at any contracts or orders for the next 4 hours so I should phone back......is it me or is there something wrong when a major phone provider has such a problem
Its not too bad as we do have the internet to chat with my family and then mobiles but no house phone could pose a problem for that period...24th Dec until 2nd Jan with no phone?????

its a bad time of year to have no phone glad its sorted now.

makes me chuckle when I remember getting our broadband fitted. I didn't realise the main phone socket was in my bedroom and that was the one room I hadn't tidied before the bt men came round. it was a tip - I was so embarrassed!!  :-[ :-[

Saying that, 2 years ago when we had a very bad winter, I was putting the decorations up in every room, I had got up and been in the garden cleaning  up the dog toilet, I had not combed my hair and it resembled a birds nest, I had breakfast and had not washed up or from the night before and there was much, box's paper and tree bits ALL over the house, and Steve came back from the cancelled train with a friend  :innocent:
Normaly our house is never that bad as we  have it as a guest house so people in and out all the time!

I hope I am wrong but just because BT say you will have a phone means absolutely nothing.

In my experience they are completely hopeless.

Well, we were with them but left them as as we as all of us nearly, rent our line from them, it gets or can get complicated when things go wrong, so we thought we would get a package with the internet included...fingers crossed as I know we may regret it!

I can only recommend the phone co-op. So far I've always had brilliant service, a named person to exchange emails with if necessary - and the same person on the phone when anything had to be done. Not in a hotter country, either.

It's nice when you can ramble onto a person, rather than press numbers, and hey understand you. I ordered the package a while age when we were moving house, when I phoned to stop the change of address but keep the package at my current address, well, they did not understand, so I just cancelled it.......now you have got me worried.

I was with Unicom and they must pay a lot of bonuses as they have a very aggressive sales pitch...when I was going to cancel, the, at first nice salesman, was ok, then he kept asking for the names of who was moving in.......I kept saying...no, and why do you want them......he got very angry and said I would leave th new people without a phone...what a lot of rubbish..
