I thought I would make a request of the Tasers to see if they knew of anyone who would be a suitable home for Yellow my foster . Anyone who takes Yellow will be getting the best present they could hope for. She really is a special and she deserves a special home.
Yellow is a young sighted friendly and lovely labrador/GSD cross type . She came to me at the start of December afraid to go outisde, afraid of the lead and frightened of a raised voice. In two weeks she has blossomed beyond recognition, she bounds outside and playfully bowls over Misty, who loves the companionship of a fun and playful , comes for cuddles and, when her cuddle cup is empty comes back for more... her cuddle cup needs a lot of filling! She loves a sofa but more than anything, she wants to be close, whatever room I am in, she is with me. That does lead her to "muscle in" on whomever I am stroking but she is quite gentle in doing that. Her heart is a loyal and loving heart and I can see her being someones "once in a lifetime " dog. Because she is loyal, she is also obedient (and very clever!) I only need to admonish her once or twice and she stops any poor behaviour. she learns so quickly, in 2 weeks she has learnt a good recall, the word bed and the word "back" (to stop her going near my other doggies and stealing their bones!). If she has done all this in 2 weeks in which she was frightened and confused, how much more will she blossom in 6 months? Whoever is lucky enough to open their heart to Yellow will find any gift from them repaid 100 fold. She is bred and conditioned to be a loyal, friendly, obedient dog . In my heart I would love to see her in a farm or a pub, her size would make her a good deterrent, her natural loyalty an effective one, and her obedience a controlled one. She is someone's "once in a lifetime" , whatever someone gives her, she give back so much more.
As a foster my role is to test her, train any negative traits and give a realistic view of her. She is not food aggressive. She was aggressive towards my cats, but that was quickly dealt with , she is younger than I thought she was (I was told 5, I think 1-2 at most), she is not destructive in any way. She is now housetrained, she messed in the house the first week because she was too frightened to go outside. She would suit a working environment, like a pub or farm (because she is young and loyal, she would like to be with someone as much as possible) or if that isn't possible a recently retired person who would take her for long walks.

She really is a very special dog.
