This should be sufficient for about eight people.

Ingredients.
----------------

Two medium smoked mackerel, skinned, boned and then flaked.

4oz cottage cheese

5 fluid oz sour cream

The juice from half a lemon.

Salt, black pepper and grated nutmeg.

Garnish- Lemon wedges, watercress and cayenne pepper.

You do
--------

Put the mackerel in a blender or food processor along with the cheese, cream and the lemon juice. Blend until the mixture is smooth.

Then spoon it into a bowl, taste and season.

Pack it into eight ramekins and then cover and chill for several hours.

Serve, sprinkled with cayenne pepper and then garnish with lemon wedges and watercress.

Mmmmmhhhhhhhhhhhhh ! Doesn't just the thought of it make your mouth water ?  :yum:

(off thread a bit) but I remember watching an episode of "Come dine with me" and it was a celebrity edition. Christopher Bigging was one of the celebreties and his started was Smoked Mackerel Pate. Anyway, whatever he did it all went wrong and he ran out at the last minute and went to Marks and Spencer and bought their Smoked Mackerel Pate. The other contestants loved it and he did not come clean with them and he won the competition!
