Liability Insurance
« on: December 02, 2013, 05:09:46 pm »
HI

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced Liability Insurance for a Smallholder. At present we have 12 sheep - the most we have is about 20 after lambing each year.I have just got the renewal notice & it is £184.60 with £500 excess on each claim, which I feel is rather excessive.

I have tried NFU, but I need to move my house insurance to them to get cover included on my policy & they don't sell separate Liability Insurance.

Can anyone recommend better policies?

Thanks

Lynn

Try Cornish Mutual/COOP/ Avita---they have all been cheaper and easier to deal with than NFU

Try Greenlands as well
Castlemilk Moorit sheep and Belted Galloway cattle, plus other hangers on.

 try www.stuartbenger.co.uk they have 2 smallholder polices that cover tools livestock fences buildings liability etc . there is gold and silver different levels depending how much cover u need .think silver is £200 p/a gold is £275 . must have no more than 50 acres . if i remember right it is underwritten by sun alliance . for what you are already paying you might aswell have the extra cover .i just got my renewal form in from them  :'(
