Hello all

I've made a very big mistake this evening that has resulted in all of today's posts and PMs being deleted, without hope of recovery. 

Earlier today a new member's account was accidentally deleted while spam was being cleaned up. This evening I was made aware of it and restored a backup of the forum from around midnight last night, so I could recreate the account and its posts.

Unfortunately I made a stupid typo and restored the backup over the live forum instead of over the staging server copy.

I'm really, really sorry about this. It's a nightmare come true, since there's nothing I can do to retrieve the information from today. It's never happened before, and I'm so horrified I'm fairly sure I'll never make the same mistake again.

As ever thank you all for being here, and I hope you can forgive me.

I think this forum is amazing Dan, I'm sure we can all survive the odd glitch, so I'm sure you will be forgiven, (eventually )

You were still working away after midnight,  did you ever imagine when you started , that it would be as big as what it is ....., and the grief  that would be caused by spam.

I can imagine how you feel, but its just one little slip in many years of wonderful work.  Dont beat yourself up about it.  We all appreciate what we do get from all your efforts and these things are bound to happen sometimes
