growing sprouting barley as fodder

Hi  has anyone any experience of growing sprouting barley as a fodder crop , ie costings and procedures including start up and running costs .saw a farmer on countryfile in northern Ireland doing this.

I managed to buy a second hand Aquacrop unit, very simple you just soak the barley one day ahead before putting in the trays, but I have not got round to using in it as I do not have cattle at the moment.

We fed sprouting barley on a goat farm where I worked in the 80s (in France). We just used large buckets with holes in them... No costs involved whatsoever!
