The decameron weekly report
« on: November 12, 2013, 04:13:13 pm »
After being referred as Urgent last April with hip problems, I finally got to see a consultant today, And yes my hips are bad, ( could have told him that) yes they need replacing , (surprise -surprise) " When" says I ..." Its a bit political " Says he , " We are looking at next spring, my guess is about April" Says he. And then goes on to describe the op." I will have to make make both your legs a bit shorter . " Says he----" Will they still reach the ground  ? "says I.....I think it was the first time he's laughed in years...

I met someone at the weekend who tells me that the NHS waiting list was so long that he went private. He met the consultant within days who put up some x-rays and explained his surgical cure. Great said the patient but they are not my legs - I have never had them x-rayed. Bit of a conversation stopper.
He moved to France and had some x-rays and is now having his post op re-hab.

My brother and a friend were both told they needed a hip replaced at round about the same time, but in different areas. they were both given the same waiting time so the friend, who had paid medical insurance for years, decided to go private. My brother's op was done slightly sooner than he expected. The friend had to wait for another three months.  ::)

The thing is, Tiz, will Gabi love you as much when there is less of you?  :roflanim:

It's worth the Waite.....I waited 6 mths after going to the specialist, that was not too bad in my opinion, even though I did go into hospital to have the operation when I was 22 but changed my mind, I was born with dislocated hip....wish I had have stayed and had it done then as now loads of other damage has been caused and all those years of pain.......After normal operation pains, I felt wonderful........something for you to look forward to ......

But why would they shorten your nose if it's hips that are the problem?  :innocent:
