This morning I spotted one of our large female pigs standing alone and very still in the toilet area of their field. She was motionless but I cracked on thinking that she was in a "waiting mode" for her toilet. A few minutes after the OH called me from our back door step.
The pig had walked over to the house and stood at the back door with our Westie. Not sure if she was in shock or just happy to waite for me to help her back into the barn. The electric fence was in knots and a few strands broken but the other pigs were inside the barn and were not going to move. It took a while to coax the pig from our garden and over the threshold of where the electric fence once stood.
2 hours latter and I re-fenced their small fiels and even coaxed them into what was the pumpkin patch.
I am convinced the pig knew that the tangeled electric wire fence was too much for her to negotiate and that she came looking for me to help her back home with hers sisters. Clever pig!
