Following on from the Urgent Transport help needed topic the people that had the Lurcher has been on the phone saying they want RID (Their words)  >:( and if he cant get a home he will be PTS
I didn't even know they had a Jack russel ! He is 3 years old has lived with children since he was a puppy and has been around livestock.  I will need to get more details and pictures.

Wish I could but TBH we have nowhere to put him if we brought him here. we have 8 dogs of our own and then  the lurcher  who is looking for a home.
All of our dogs are 100% with our cats but we cant risk a Jack russel that has never lived  with a cat

We can't let him be pts. That's just too awful. :'(

Why are they suddenly getting rid of their dogs? Hope they do not have children?

Do you know what timescale there is?  Can we get him out some other way - another rescue society maybe?  Which vets do they use - would their vet put a healthy dog down or will they make up some reason to get rid of him - like saying he bit a child or something similar?

They moved up here from London to live the good life they got the dogs, pygmy goats, geese, ducks, chickens and the woman got fed up with animals and has put her foot down.
the goats just vanished  :-\ the chickens have gone and the geese are now at our friends place.
some of the ducks are at ours and the rest are wandering around the neighbourhood and when caught will come here
No idea how long they will keep the dog as they didn't want the lurcher back so dread to think what would have happened to him if we had not kept him here

I've emailed Julia at Whitfield Estate to see if she can help with either of these, Sokel

Just had a message from my friend, Julia of Whitfield  Estate
"we have a local rescue called "Morgans Dog Rescue" up at Alston, its run by a lady called Donna, who is lovely and really helpful.  Their phone number is 01434 381089.  They also have a Facebook page.  She might be able to help get the terrier away if nothing else.

Julia"

Hope that helps. She also said that she'd have taken the lurcher but she's over run with Labs at the moment.
