Our hen hatched out 6 chicks yesterday out of 6 eggs. I had tried to put her off going broody but in the end gave up. We are also trying duck eggs in the incubator again. This time bought local so I do hope some hatch. I am all ready for ducklings so fingers crossed   :chook: :&>

That's fantastic. Fingers well crossed that you get your ducklings too. I have always incubated duck eggs and have been tempted to try with hen eggs but knowing my luck I would hatch all cockerels!

My duck came off her egg after 32 days - she obviously has a calendar inbuilt.  I put it in the bin, but shook it gently first.  There was something solid moving up and down, but I guessed it was dead one way or another.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age
