In-Lamb Ewes for Sale (Bristol area)
« on: October 30, 2013, 02:12:04 pm »
Five in lamb ewes for sale from smallholder closed flock – all of these ewes are homebred.  Have been running with pedigree Hampshire Down from 5th October and due to lamb from circa 1st March (exact date of service for each below).  I have based the dates below on a 147 day gestation period.   These ewes are wormed/fluked to date and on HeptavacP system.    They would make ideal flock replacements for a smallholder or for anyone looking to start out in sheep keeping (CPH number required).   These ewes are easy to handle and bucket trained.  A welcome addition to any flock they are extremely healthy and have excellent udders, feet and teeth.  There should be plenty of breeding years left in these large, well-built robust ewes.  My small flock has no health issues – no orf or Smallenberg issues etc to date.  Only for sale as moving towards breeding pedigree Hampshire Downs in the future.  The Hampshire Down tup sire is available to view – I also currently have some of his ewe lambs from April 2013 to view so you can see the high-class lambs you can expect from all of the above girls in early Spring 2014.   These ewes are only for sale to a very good home so no timewasters please. For sale as one lot or will split.  £120.00 each or £575 for the five.

Ewe 1: A Texel x Charollais – this will be her 4th lot of lambs.  Again has always bred twin lambs.  Another top-class mother whose lambs always thrive.  A really lovely ewe – very friendly.   Her lambs always have excellent confirmation. Tupped 7th October 2013 (due circa 3rd March 2014) Lambed at 145 days in 2013.

Ewes 2 & 3: Texel x Charollais - Both Gimmer ewes to lamb for the first time in 2014.  One is a daughter of Ewe 2 above. Tupped 5th October 2013 (due circa 1st March 2014) & 13th October 2013 (due circa 9th March 2014).   Both super young ewes that should breed some high quality lambs as all the other ewes do.

Ewe 4: A Charollais x Suffolk – this will be her 3rd lot of lambs.   Still a very young ewe, she again is a superb mother and her lambs are always large and strong.  A very friendly ewe.   Never sick or sorry, she is a lovely ewe to own.  Tupped 14th October 2013 (due circa 10th March 2014).  Lambed at 148 days in 2013.

Ewe 5: A Charollias x Ryeland ewe.  An excellent ewe with superb confirmation.  This will be her 6th lot of lambs.  She is a superb mother – very milky, she does her lambs very well to weaning.   She is a full mouth ewe – lots of years left in her yet though.  Tupped 19th October (due circa 15th March 2014).  Lambed at 143 days in 2013.

Any of the above that do not sell in-lamb will be sold with lambs at foot in March so please PM if interested in this option.
