We are packing in incubating as there is no phrophit for us Wev been doing this since the 50s .high breds from Ireland £10 pound each go out £15 point of lay no work electricity chick crumbs etc. The prize wining silver lace will be sold march sales .so no rare breeds there is no money in sheep ether just sold 150 at thainstone 68 each same price late 80s .

  I did suspect I'd never make any money from poultry - and didn't go any further than a sheep keeping course before deciding it wouldn't be worth it.

How much is the incubator? Any idea how much it might be to post (I'm the other end of the country from you)? I've got one incubator but was just thinking if I'm hatching chickens, ducks and geese (fingers crossed) I might need a second and husband will kill me if I buy another new one.

i would wait till iv finished the last hatches the r Com's are very costly in servicing that one cost me 80 pound the brinsea which is auto turn is the better option no servicing etc and a lot cheaper .Iv got 5 incubate rs one 500 one 1000 2 100 and 3 brinsea they wont make a lot .Iv also got lots of heat bulbs as well as holders .

OK  thanks - I've got a Brinsea now which is great so if you are likely to be selling off those, I'll certainly hang on.

Pity I'm not closer, brooding stuff would be tempting too. I'm sure you'll get lots of takers though.
