You must be getting senile with age missus  :roflanim: :sofa: :innocent:

If my memory serves correctly (really hope it does after saying that  ;)) it's a Large Black sow that MKay has.

I think you'll struggle to find a registered Large Black boar up there currently  :( but there's a guy called Mark up in Sutherland who has GOS. (Our last litters were sired by a GOS and the weaners are stonking ) Here's his website and contact details http://www.ospisdale-pigs.co.uk/

Could be wrong but I have one of his LB girls and I think Violet was being turned into dinners (as my youngest says!). So it may not need to be a specific breed if anyone was thinking of offering their boar.

Of course, I could be wrong and Karen right :-)

try Gary Imlach up in Thurso, he had large blacks but if not he'll know someone who might be able to help you out
keeper of goats, sheep, pigs, ducks, chickens, turkeys, dogs, cats, goldfish and children, just don't ask me which is the most work!

I forgot I had posted this thread already, the large blacks are gone. Our girl is a 57, looks like an OSB with a Tamworth head.
Trying to steer clear of Gary, Matthew and Gary, was hoping someone downt the road with high welfare values might oblige, would like OSB/ GOS but as she's a 57 I'm not fussy on breed.

I was thinking there was a middle white breeder up by Caithness, may be wrong.

The middle white breeder is john and we are good friends, I used his boar on her for the last litter also he's got a bad leg at the min so not sure if he's upto servicing a particularly big girl.

Thanks Karen ill have a look, it was GOS I wanted.

do you have johns details/website?
my next pigs will be middle whites so having his number would be good.
I knew there was a breeder there - only as I saw an ad in paper ages ago for weaners.

I do, I will ask him which number I can give you.

He has a litter of 20wks and a pair of 8mnth gilts at the min which I suspect will be for sale and another litter due in the new year.
