a friend has asked if she could giver her pigs a horses salt lick as he doesn't like it, I have no idea but im sure some of you will know, thanks

Pig food already has a high salt content and pigs are very suseptible to salt poisoning especially if they are dehydrated, it can kill them so IMO they should not have the lick as ever with pigs they tend to gorge and would try to consume it in one go and she would end up with some seriously ill possibly dead pigs. Tell her to try and sell or give it to another horsy friend.

Think 'salt poisioning'......... most definitely not for pigs.

Reminds me of when one of my in-law type relatives asked how much salt we had to feed our pigs to make bacon....
Was a stunned silence then on of us explained one had to be careful as it might cause high blood pressure :roflanim:
