Why do dogs have to show you up?
« on: September 08, 2009, 02:49:30 pm »
Just seen off my in laws :dog: ;) 8)and she insists on saying how mad she was...years ago...about our dog, Bruce, eating te cake she had brought for us!!!! we did not mind as we only would have gobbled the lot, anyway, she has been saying it again except now the cake was eaten in another house up here (according to her) but it's not the case, then, would you credit it, the sat in the lounge reading the papers and I went out to make a bit of food and heard her telling Ben off, he had got up on the sofa with her, he knows thats wrong so that was a bit embarrasing so my OH, her son, let them out, or so I thought, I went to get some more bread from the freezer and came back to empty dishes, the meats, cheese and portk pies had vanished and Ben was outside???? he must have shot in and shot out with the goodies, now she will go on for ages and ages about that!!!! When I first was going out with her son he was injured so lay on the floor in the lounge, she popped buy to visit when I was at work and Bruce had the runs ALL over the house, the first and only time he ever had an accident in the house and what a BIG one, so, you see, like children, dogs always have to go and show you up, or are they saying something!!!!!!! (lost my smilies AGAIN!)

Sand...Sandy...calm down...what's more important...the dog having a full tummy and a family who loves him - or - a happy mother-in-law?  There's no contest!

Dog lives with you every day, gives you unbridled love, never answers back, is always happy to see you and you couldn't imagine life without him...on the other hand...Mother-in-Law comes when she isn't invited, annoys you, creates problems between you and O.H. and shouts at dog for trying to be effectionate...like I said...no contest...

Go to dog right now and give him a big cuddle...I'll lay odds you feel better and double the odds that the same couldn't be said of cuddling the Mother-in-law!!!

Ben's a good lad!  If I didn't have my Brittanys I'd have him!  Loads of personality!  My Hester is a thief too, but I still love her too.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

Doggies are very telepathic :o
If you do not like them - they know ::)
If you pick on them for no reason - then maybe they retaliate and this is why he is naughty
only when mother in law is around ::)

He is probably releived she has gone too - and knows she don't like him.

Give him a hug from me too ;D ;D ;D

PS the only time my Ruby has weeed on someones carpet is at my step-motherin- laws - I take it
Ruby knows she doesn't like her either cause they always get ugly mongrels not beautiful princesses like
my Ruby.

A friend of the family had an Alsation who didn't let anyone out the door until they had throw his ball at least ones lol.

Same dog got really nasty to one man in a paper shop once and wont let him out the door, it turned out that he had been released from prison that same day. So dog do know a bad'un.

My dog used to chase the postman (just this one, in mum and dad lane) just for sear devilment, chumly knew that the posty didn't like dogs lol
