Don't forget they are VERY fattening!  Especially with the butter and jam on them ;D ;D

I made some. What a faff with all that butter. They were lovely but oh I feel sick after eating two! There must be a thousand calories in each one. They have all gone into the freezer, ready to be taken out and given to unsuspecting friends!

I can't believe that the scots actually eat these on a regular basis.I feel as though I have put on a stone since eating two! I think I prefer the American Parker House Rolls which are a simular thing but don't use a fraction of the fat. call in anytime you are in Lincolnshire.

After living in Scotland for 3 years now I know why they eat fattening foods, it's the rain and lower temps!!! I first moved here and found it hard to understand as the food produced in scotland was wounderful, Aberdeen angus, root veg and whiskey, a great warming meal, suits me down to the ground.bring on the calories!!!

Wow, butteries! I love them. 1 @ a time is enough though. I dont really keep them in the house as OH would just eat the whole packet! On show days I take with us in the lorry, once we arrive @ the show take down ramp and check neddy is ok,then stick the kettle on and have a coffee and buttery with butter or butter and jam, that just sets us up for while! (well it sets me up for a while) OH has a buttery everyday @ morning tea break but his Granny supplies them! (Phew) If we go to mums in the morning we get tea and a warm buttery with butter and marmalade.....mmmm...yum!  :yum:
