Inspired by Clare's pic i have added Whitadder (aka as Witty) - very handsome if I say so myself

We started keeping sheep almost 4 years ago. We chose Zwartbles because they have a good reputation for being good mothers, providing good meat with a low fat content, prolific milkers and a friendly nature - and also because after visiting the Kelso show we thought that they looked rather nice! We have been really pleased with our decision and would really recommend these as a good breed for new smallholders

Very handsome! I must say i've had sheep for many years and every time i see these zwartbles i am tempted! Are they easy to breed with the correct markings or is that part a bit more of a challenge? I would breed pedigree if i do get some so its interesting to me how easy they are to breed to a good standard!

Starting with good stock has got to be the key. Most of our lambs have been of a pedigree standard and we have been delighted with the quality of offspring. Mostly to do with genetics = also caring for them is a joy, which helps with condition.
