Hi Ruth
What a coincidence! We have many friends in the New England area including Manchester, we usually base ourselves in Newburyport and then go visiting from their, usually involves a trip up to Stowe, Canterbury of course and a side trip to the Vineyard, its very enjoyable as they are all quite contrasting areas. My kids who sadly dont share my love of the rural life get their retail fix at the Mall of New Hampshire not forgetting Kittery just over in Maine. One of my favourite places is the Shaker Village, its so tranquil, I also visited on a Lavendar Day a couple of years ago. One of my most memorable visits was in the winter, sooooo much snow, the village was closed but the caretaker let me wander round by myself taking photographs, it was so beautiful, bright blue skies, very very cold and so peaceful. Our friends live just down on Hackleboro Road. We have visited many times in the summer and a few times to Ski in Feb but never been in autumn, which is quite unbelievable as I am certain it is spectacular, I suppose its because the kids are back in school, I have been promising myself a trip over though, hopefully in the near future.
Hope the sun is shining today!
Jo
