One more day!
« on: August 29, 2013, 07:54:24 pm »
We are due to complete tomorrow... All the cars and borrowed horsebox are rammed and I know that waiting for the phone call from the estate agent to collect the keys is going to be agonising! Since the mortgage company didn't withdraw the offer by close of business today and nobody has died, I think we're pretty much there...  :fc: :excited:

Thanks, everyone. We won't be actually sleeping there until Monday night. Our tenants can't move in until end of next month so that's a bind but gives us more grace to clear and clean here...

Will report back tomorrow!

Good luck - it's odd to think that our own move was just 3 months ago but it's still so fresh in my mind

Thinking of you today - here's to a smooth handover and all systems go!

Having the extra time for clearing out the old place sounds easier than getting everything in both places sorted on the same day.  I know there's a rent shortfall for a month but peace of mind and the freedom to take the time you need sounds good to me.

Think the month gap is a very good idea, we had it and it made a huge difference!

Wasn't our choice, to be honest, but it does give us some grace (and the mortgage payment is tax deductible...)

Just had a call from the purchase solicitors saying the funds have come through from our mortgage company but they haven't had the funds through from the remortgage. Spoke to the remortgage solicitors (not my choice to instruct them - it was a condition of the remortgage) and they've got the funds from the lender, so that's good, but they haven't sent it off yet and don't know when it will be. It's going to be a long wait but at least the money is out there!
