Shetland Cattle and Soay Sheep for sale
« on: August 02, 2013, 08:55:53 pm »
Due to the imminent sale of my land in Gloucestershire I am selling my small herd of Shetland Cattle and flock of Soay Sheep.  All livestock are pure bred and fully registered. The cattle are one cow Morehay Edwina born August 2006 and three heifers Rowland Mysie born August 2010 and Cleeve Milly born June 2012 and Cleeve Moira born July 2012.  Moira is red & white the rest are black & white.  £1500 for all four or £500 each.  In the flock of Soays I have 20 breeding ewes plus two of this years ewe lambs remaining plus a number of castrates and a ram. £500 for the whole flock or £40 each if sold in small groups.  The buyer will need to arrange collection from the site just north of Cheltenham.  Photos are on https://sites.google.com/site/cleevesoaysheep/

When you say imminent, how long before they need to go?

Likely to be before the end of September but they can go any time from now on.

Are any of them halter trained?  We were about to start looking either for 2 at weaning to halter train our selves or older if already trained. (meaning the Shetlands!)

They are not halter trained.  However, they come to the bucket easily and the two younger ones should be no problem to halter train as they are very used to regular human contact.  Moira the little red & white one lost her mother aged 5 months and needed a lot of extra feeding to get her through the winter and so is especially tame.

I am just getting them TB tested this week prior to their move on.
