Hi. I am new to this site. Although I have kept chickens for about 3 years we have recently bought 6 acres of land around our house. I now have 2 sheep and will have 2 pigs next week. I hope to have 2 highland cattle in afew months and a poly tunnel later in the year. So I have alot of learning to do!!!! ???

Welcome !  What sort of pigs are you planning to have.  I love the look of highland cattle but anything with horns, and especially anything larger than I am, is definitely a no no for me.

I have to fight to get onto the web - the kids are always on, but I look forward to sharing my experiences with you. Our Easter project is to build a pig ark and fence an area for the pigs! We are to be on Homes Under The Hammer at some time so I will let you know when! No doubt I will have loads of questions for you but think I have most of the information for the time being. I love looking at what others ask as I have the same questions.

Hullo and welcome to the TAS forums.

What kind of sheep do you have and what do you plan to do with your Highland cattle? You could milk them - not high yeilding but very rich milk. And very docile.

My sheep  >:( mistake no.1 - they think they are goats!!!!! They are gritstones. They spent most of the first 6 weeks on next doors land. The field is now like alkatraz!!!!!! Next time I plan to have something like texals. The highland cattle I want for beef and maybe to breed from.
