Hi,

Does anyone know if Aralia Spinosa (also known as Devil's walkingstick or Hercules Club) is edible for goats. I can not find it mentioned (either edible or poisonous) in ay of the usual lists

I have found that there is an article in a Korean Animal Journal suggesting using a different flower from the aralia group as a foodstuff for goats

TBH i wouldn't give it to my goat just to be on the safe side tho my goat does eat hedges and tree which i have not researched to see it they can eat it or not but most of the time if the goat knows its not edible hey won't go near it!

I'm not letting them have it, however, they seem very keen to eat it. Its other names are spiney ash or spiney elder and I wonder if it is because it looks a bit like ash that they are interested. As is their favourite tree.
