Swapping sheep? Good or bad idea?

Got 2 nice texel x ewe lambs that tbh I think are too good for the freezer so I've put
Them up for swap for a couple of ram lambs for my freezer am I being stupid shall I just bung them
In the freezer? Me keeping them is not an option lol

Well I don't think you are being stupid. If you bred the ewe lambs yourself it will be more difficult for you to send them to the abattoir that unknown ram lambs that you haven't had the chance to get attached to.

We quite often do swaps of our hoggs for ewes in the spring.  Suits us perfectly and the other party while saving the hassle of markets.
