Cockerels and very young pullets

Every where I read you should keep cockerels away from chicks.

Yesterday was big move all the birds around day - putting chicks together, removing cockerels from hens that are due to start laying in the next few weeks etc.  I put my 2 groups of 7 week old chicks together removing the 3 cockerels from the hens that were with my bantam. This morning one of the little hens got back in to the run that she was in with her mum, I have 2 x 15 week old cockerels in there now.

I was really surprised that the boys looked at her and just ignored her. One of the boys is a French Black Maran and the other is a Light Sussex (they hatched together and have not been apart yet). They are lovely boys although don't like being caught but once you catch them the are quite happy to have all the attention you want to give them. Can anyone tel me if this is normal behaviour?

I also have a group of 12 cockerels the same age with very similar temperaments.

Thanks
