OK I'm very sorry if this is a really silly question BUT........ can you slap mark large black pigs or saddle backs? my first sent boys go off on the 18Th of august and just making sure i have everything in hand

You'll be able to see it on the carcass once it's been through the scalding tank. Check with your abattoir what they want. We tag ours when they're loaded for their final trip.

It has always worked fine with our saddlebacks, and we have always been able to see the slap mark when we collect however black their skin was when alive.  Slap on both sides, then you can check each half pig is yours.
